The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the world governing body for the sport of badminton. The BWF is empowered by the IOC and the BWF’s 170 Members to govern the sport of badminton - 158 of these Members are National Badminton Federations under the IOC/NOC structure. In partnership with its five Continental Confederations and its Members, the BWF promotes, presents, develops, and regulates the sport worldwide. The BWF has its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with an office in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Horrabridge Village

Bere Alston United Church

Welcome to our little church in south west Devon, England. Our building (at top of page) does not have the normal appearance of a church, more resembling a house and being in a row of houses in the main Fore Street of the village, but it has been in existence for nearly 200 years.

Horrabridge Rangers FC

Horrabridge Rangers Sports Association were proud to receive the FA Charter Mark for Excellence in February 2004. Followed by the Charter Standard Development Award soon after in the late Spring. We received the Community Award in December making us the nearest club to Plymouth to have this award.

West Devon has been accepted by the London 2012 Olympic Games Organisers as an area where a country or countries can come and carry out their final training in the weeks leading up to the 2012 Games. The four sports that have been accepted within the West Devon area are:
  • Athletics - based at Tavistock College
  • Badminton - four courts available at both Tavistock and Okehampton Colleges
  • Football - Tavistock Football Club
  • Table Tennis - Okehampton Table Tennis Club
